GCW031 — Medium Mokko Bonsai Pot in Shaner’s Red
This medium-sized mokko-form bonsai pot explores the expressive potential of reduction-fired stoneware and classic glaze chemistry. Built from white stoneware and fired in a Cone 10 reduction atmosphere, this piece features Shaner’s Red glaze — a storied finish known for its warmth, depth, and subtle variation.
The form is deliberate but soft, balancing the traditional mokko shape with subtle asymmetries and a gently undulating rim. At 9.75” × 8” × 2.75”, this pot is suited for medium-sized deciduous trees or conifers that can carry the visual weight of the glaze. The elevated feet offer solid drainage and presence, lifting the piece just enough to define its form without distraction.
GCW031 is part of the Signature Series — a collection of one-of-a-kind works from Ginkgo Clayworks that reflect a deep respect for process, materiality, and restraint.
